David L. Micoff, CPA
Founder
David L. Micoff has provided accounting and business consulting services in various capacities throughout the US and southeast Michigan since 1986. His expertise includes accounting and auditing, taxation, office automation and computer consulting. David also speaks on technology topics including internet security, intenet marketing and how to make techology work for you.
David graduated Cum Laude from the University of Michigan School of Business Administration in 1986. Since then David has worked as an auditor for two 'Big Six' accounting firms and served as controller and later as Chief Financial Officer for FAME Software Corporation, a subsidiary of Citibank.
As an auditor for Arthur Andersen & Company, David was assigned to the Small Business Division. This provided him the opportunity to gain a broad base of experience in a variety of industries. He received extensive training in technical accounting issues, business procedures, and computerized accounting systems. Due to his extensive computer experience, he also served as a member of the EDP Auditing Department.
At FAME Software Corporation David was responsible for automating the manual accounting system and managing all financial aspects of the corporation. Reporting requirements to the parent company was extensive. David either prepared of supervised the preparation of the financial reports. All of this information was transmitted to New York using state of the art computer and communications technology. David reported directly to the President of the Corporation who was based in New York. Since David was the senior officer at the Michigan facility he was responsible for much of the day-to-day operations.
From June 1988, David had been active in his own accounting and consulting practice. He provides traditional accounting services such as financial statement preparation and tax planning and preparation. He also performs various consulting services including business planning, office automation and installing computer, computer networks and computerized accounting systems. David is an authorized consultant for the MYOB accounting software, a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and a certified member of the Apple Consultants Network qualified as a Apple Certified Technical Coordinator and Help Desk Specialist..
David holds multiple certifications from Apple, serves on the adjunct faculty at Cleary University, is a member of both the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA).
